Captain Doug Rood grew up on Saginaw Bay in Standish, MI. At the age of 5 his father introduced him to bass and pike fishing on inland lakes around Michigan. He graduated to walleye fishing on Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay, but never had the Salmon bug until later in life. Moving to Wisconsin in 2002 and being introduced to Salmon and Trout fishing on Lake Michigan, it was without a doubt the perfect fit for Captain Doug. 2 Years after living in WI, he became a captain and began Rood Dawg Charters. Sharing the thrill of Salmon and Trout fishing on Lake Michigan has become a passion and he thoroughly enjoys sharing that passion as you will see. No matter how many trips on the Lake or whomever he is fishing with, the excitement is always there.We invite you to come and fish with us and find out why we are one of the easiest and finest crews to fish with.
